Bert & Caryn Earehart - Owners/Trainers/Instructors
Copper Leaf Stable, LLC was established in 2013 and found its permanent location in Green Bay, WI. Caryn and Bert combine their experiences and talents to provide a quality equestrian experience with a barn family feel.
Bert is a third generation horse trainer. He has worked for many top barns in the industry like Kohler Stables, Boston Morgan Farm and his family's Earehart Training Stables.
Bert has trained several Morgan horses to World, National and Regional titles. He has also has experience with Arabians, Saddlebreds, Friesians and Ponies. Safety and a positive learning experience are just some of the qualities that many have found with Bert's riding lesson instruction.
Caryn fell in love with Morgans at any early age, which all started with her first horse Sparkler. While she has a full time career outside of the barn, she is involved with many aspects of the business. A passion for equitation is shared through coaching many of the equitation riders that call Copper Leaf Stable home.
Lauren Marsh - Assistant/Instructor
Lauren has been riding, training, showing and instructing for over 25 years. She started riding at age seven at Shadowfax Morgans in Croom, MD. She's ridden a little bit of everything over the years, but Morgans have always been her heart. Her next stop was Genesis Farms in Lusby, MD, where she took lessons from Leitha Stone. At 14, her mom bought her a yearling she trained herself, then eventually qualified and showed at the Grand Nationals in her final year as a Junior Exhibitor.
While showing and training with her mom as an Amateur Owned, Trained and Shown (AOTS) team, Lauren spearheaded the movement to have AOTS added to the Morgan Grand National prizelist in 2015 and also worked for sponsorships of those classes. It was a successful campaign and the AOTS classes are still offered at Nationals today. Lauren currently owns one Morgan, McGarry's Courage (Toby), who she showed successfully on the east coast and rode to a Top Five and Top Ten at Morgan Grand Nationals. After many years in a desk job, joined Cottonwood Creek Ranch in 2019 as Lesson Program Manager and Riding Instructor. After two wonderful years with CCR, Lauren has eagerly joined the Copper Leaf Stable Team as the Trainer's Assistant and Instructor. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys everything from antiquing to adventure. Whether it be skydiving or a good book, Lauren is game! Her love of horses overflows into her everyday life and to be able to work with quality Morgans every day is her definition of "dream job".
